Camilla Barker
Camilla is in the final stages of completing a LLB English and European Laws degree at a prestigious law school in London, UK. She has just returned to the UK having spent a year at the University of Bologna, Italy, completing a European law specialism for her degree. Her specific research interests include: human rights, sexual minorities, gender related rights, international law, public law, prisoners' rights and civil liberties.
Human rights activism enjoys a daily presence in Camilla's life and she regularly participates in national and international campaigns alongside her role as the Founding Director of the International Write for Rights Movement (http://www.iwfrm.co.uk), a not-for-profit publishing house which aims to produce quality content on human rights issues which is then distributed on an international platform. Camilla is also the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Transgender Rights which is the first legal journal in the world to focus solely on the legal rights of transgendered people (http://www.iwfrm.co.uk/international-journal-of-transgender-rights).
In terms of writing topics, Camilla is very interested in current legal affairs and likes to write articles which push the boundaries of modern perspectives and attitudes. Previously, Camilla has written for regional and national newspapers on a variety of topics and is now concentrating on developing her work in the legal and political fields.
